5 step guide to Adsense Success

There are quite a few articles out there that claim to be the holy grail of adsense knowledge. There is no such thing. Neither do they know everything, nor do I. All I can do is help you with getting a broader perspective on the whole thing and hope you get the point.

I have prepared 5 points, generic in nature which you should just keep an eye on when building a site.

  1. Treat your site as a real business

Do not treat your site as a hobby if you aim to make money with it. Sure, pursue it with the fun and passion involved in a hobby, but make decisions like your livelihood depended on it. Start learning from your mistakes and make sure you do not repeat them in the future.

  2. Find a niche

In order to be successful, you need to find a niche for yourself. Find a topic which interests you and start collecting material on it. The aim here is not only to have extensive knowledge, but also up to date knowledge which you can keep updating regularly. If you do not have an interest in that niche, you will find it very hard to keep motivated to keep updating the content.
Also, do not always go for the big keywords which “supposedly” give the maximum pay outs. Sure, they do, but the competition is very high here and even though you might have used the keywords well, you might end up nowhere compared to other competitors. Go for low-mid level keywords where competition is less and you have a higher chance of hitting the jack pot.

  3. Use available software

Use different tools and software to enhance traffic to your site. Do not depend on adsense alone. Use SEO and other such tools to bring new and unique traffic to your site. Adsense alone will not bring home the moolah, it is a combination of other techniques, like advertising on forums, blogs, and friends’ sites which will increase traffic and hence, increase adsense earnings.

  4. Choose a broad niche and make multiple sites

You should choose a broad niche and break it down into highly specialised niche’s which get made into separate sites. This ensures optimum use of keywords and targeted audience. Also, most big earners today have a huge number of sites each with moderate traffic. Sometimes, quantity trumps quality.

  5. Keep it simple

Use a good font like trebuchet or Tahoma and use colours which are easy on the eyes. Flashy colours and huge fonts are out of fasion, totally. Position all the content well and use a simple navigation system without any broken links. Nothing frustrates a visitors more than not being able to find a link to go somewhere.

  6. Keep all of this in mind, and you might just crack the google code and be on your way to the land of the super rich! Good luck!
